Welcome to Long Street Backpackers - a historic party hostel nestled in the heart of Cape Town, South Africa. We're one of the oldest original hostels around, and we'd love to tell you our story.

OUR HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
Long Street Backpackers has been around since 1994, and in the same building. That makes us THE oldest backpackers in Cape Town - and we're still kicking. We've been a family-run business since then, with ownership being handed down from uncle to nephew. Since LSB's inception, we've added 3 more dorms, renovated our bathrooms and kitchen, added a special office space just for our digital nomads, and we've upgraded our entertainment with a pool table, ping pong table, PS4, and dedicated TV room.

We continue to wreak havoc, create insane travel memories, and create long-lasting bonds.

WE'RE STILL PARTYING
We've hosted many reveries and stories - some of our favourites include a giant dildo named Richard who was used in a daily scavenger hunt, our topless Mondays, our insane costume parties, and streaking down Long Street to get your picture on the wall of fame. Since the 90s, we've built our lekker bar, Sweeties Beer Hall, that allows our tourists to mingle with locals and enjoy our homegrown parties. We still enjoy our photo wall tradition, and we keep rocking with our events - including karaoke, beer pong, quiz nights, and themed parties. Long Street is one of the craziest nightlife spots in South Africa, and its energy is not to be missed.

Write about something you know. If you don’t know much about a specific topic that will interest your readers, invite an expert to write about it.

Take a few moments to plan your post

Once you have a great idea for a post, write the first draft. Some people like to start with the title and then work on the paragraphs. Other people like to start with subtitles and go from there. Choose the method that works for you.
